Wow! I'm so excited to start this running diary about my adventures on Lake Powell. I should say right away that it will not be just me, but my husband and our houseboat partners and anyone we take as guests on our ventures into the beautiful Glen Canyon territory.

John and I have been co-owners of a small houseboat named "Simplicity" for almost seven years with three other couples. Simplicity is parked permanently on "A Dock" at Wahweap Marina at Lake Powell. It has been a dream-come-true for me to be a part of this boat ownership, since I've thought about this most unusual and romantic venture ever since I heard about it in 1969, only a few years after the dam was completed - the one that created Lake Powell out of the mighty, flowing Colorado River.

John and I have been out on the lake many times. Not as many times as the other partners in our partnership, but 3 or 4 times each year since 2003, and that still amounts to a good deal of experience. It is a new adventure each time. Due to the change in weather, water level, time of year, traffic on the water, personal circumstances, etc., it is always exciting and new to experience Lake Powell whenever we are fortunate enough to be here.
